How I used AI on this project
I used ChatGPT to help draft blog posts, generate descriptive alt text for images, and write meta descriptions for pages. Example uses: (1) I asked ChatGPT for short alt text for my header image; (2) I had it produce a 150-word meta description for the Home page; (3) I used it to brainstorm headings and to rephrase content for clarity.
Example prompts I used:

  • “Write a concise 15-word alt text for a photo of a laptop showing code.”
  • “Write a 150-character meta description for a portfolio website of a DePaul IT student focusing on web development and UX.”
Reflection: AI significantly sped up my writing process by producing initial drafts, fixing awkward phrasing, and suggesting concise, accessible alt text I might have otherwise skipped. It helped me overcome writer’s block and kept tone and structure consistent across multiple posts, which saved time I could spend on design and polish. However, I made sure to edit and read over the content provided by ChatGPT to ensure it was up to my own standards and fit my own thoughts. I reviewed and edited every AI suggestion, added personal examples from my coursework and local context, and fact-checked statements so the final content truly reflects my perspective and maintains accuracy.

Blog Posts
I used ChatGPT to generate content for my blog page for my site: SEO-friendly titles, 2–3 sentence post intros, and full blog posts written in my voice as an Information Technology student at DePaul University focusing on web development, UX design, and “technology for good.” For each post I reviewed and lightly edited the text so it reflects my perspective and personal examples before publishing.

Example prompts

Prompt used (example):
“Create a WordPress-ready blog content package with 7 posts written in the voice of an Information Technology student at DePaul University who studies web development and UX. For each post provide: (1) a catchy SEO-friendly title, (2) a short introduction/preview (2–3 sentences) suitable for the post excerpt, and (3) the full blog content of 200–250 words. Make the tone thoughtful, reflective, and oriented toward technology’s social impact.”
